Attributes in New Asgard: A Player's Guide

In New Asgard, your character's core abilities are represented by Attributes. These are the fundamental traits that define your character's strengths and weaknesses. Each Attribute is rated on a scale from 1 to 10, with 4 being the average for a typical person. Scores above 4 represent exceptional ability, while scores below 4 indicate below average capability.

Strength

This attribute represents your avatar's physical might and prowess in combat. With a high Strength score, you can wield powerful weapons, crush your enemies in melee combat, and perform incredible feats of might. Your Strength will be put to the test in battles against the Draugr, in tests of endurance, and in challenges that require raw physical power.

 

 Low Strength (1-3):

Your character struggles with physical tasks and may be at a disadvantage in combat.

 Average Strength (4):

Your character has typical physical capabilities.

 High Strength (5-10):

Your character is exceptionally strong and powerful in physical confrontations.

 

Example:

When attempting to break down a barricaded door, a character with high Strength might easily smash through, while a character with low Strength might need to find an alternative approach.

Resilience

In a world filled with danger and corruption, your avatar's Resilience is their ultimate defense. This attribute represents your ability to withstand damage, resist corruption, and recover from wounds and afflictions. A high Resilience score makes you a formidable opponent, able to shrug off blows that would fell lesser warriors and persevere through even the darkest of trials.

 

 Low Resilience (1-3):

Your character is more susceptible to injury and illness, and may take longer to recover.

 Average Resilience (4):

Your character has typical toughness and recovery capabilities.

 High Resilience (5-10):

Your character is exceptionally tough, able to endure great hardship and recover quickly from injuries.

 

Example:

When exposed to a corrupting influence, a character with high Resilience might be able to resist its effects and maintain their integrity, while a character with low Resilience might quickly succumb to the corruption.

Agility

Your avatar's Agility determines their speed, reflexes, and dexterity. A high Agility score allows you to dodge enemy attacks, perform acrobatic feats, and navigate treacherous environments with ease. In the fast-paced combat of New Asgard, your Agility can mean the difference between life and death.

 

 Low Agility (1-3):

Your character is slow to react and may struggle with tasks requiring fine motor skills.

 Average Agility (4):

Your character has typical speed and dexterity.

 High Agility (5-10):

Your character is exceptionally quick and nimble, excelling in tasks requiring speed and precision.

 

Example:

In a fast paced combat scenario, a character with high Agility might be able to dodge multiple attacks and strike back swiftly, while a character with low Agility might find themselves frequently hit and struggling to land blows.

Integration Sphere

The Integration Sphere represents how effectively a human consciousness can exist within, adapt to, and influence the digital reality of New Asgard. This fundamental aspect of existence measures the degree to which a mind can transcend its biological origins to thrive in a virtual world.

Resonance

Resonance determines a consciousness's ability to influence and manipulate the digital fabric of New Asgard.

 

 Low Resonance (1-3):

Low Resonance limits one's ability to affect the surrounding digital reality.

 Average Resonance (4):

Your character can perform basic manipulations of the digital environment.

 High Resonance (5-10):

High Resonance allows for significant influence over the digital environment.

This attribute affects:

 Power to alter local reality

 Strength of digital manifestations

 Ability to interact with and modify code structures

 Influence over environmental parameters

 Capacity for reality manipulation 

Adaptiveness

Adaptiveness measures how well a consciousness can adjust to existing in a digital form.

 

 Low Adaptiveness (1-3):

Low Adaptiveness may result in difficulty modifying attributes or slower adjustment to digital existence.

 Average Adaptiveness (4):

Your character adapts to new situations at a normal rate.

 High Adaptiveness (5-10):

High Adaptiveness allows for rapid changes to one's digital form and swift recovery from system disturbances.

 This attribute governs:

 Speed and efficiency of modifying one's digital attributes

 Mental flexibility in accepting digital existence

 Ability to process and adapt to fundamental differences between physical and digital life

 Capacity to alter one's form and characteristics within the digital space

 Recovery from digital trauma or system shocks.

Harmony 

Harmony represents how naturally a consciousness can exist within and align with New Asgard's digital framework..

 

 Low Harmony (1-3):

Low Harmony may cause occasional glitches or feelings of disconnect from the digital environment.

 Average Harmony (4):

Your character has typical social skills and emotional stability.

 High Harmony (5-10):

High Harmony results in stable existence within New Asgard and natural interaction with its systems.

 

This attribute influences:

 Natural integration with the realm's systems

 Stability of digital existence

 Resistance to corruption and data degradation

 Smoothness of interaction with digital constructs

 Overall "comfort" within virtual reality

Intellect

Your avatar's Intellect represents their ability to analyze, reason, and comprehend the complexities of New Asgard. A high Intellect allows you to solve intricate problems, master advanced technologies, and understand the deeper mechanisms that govern this digital realm. Those with keen Intellect can decode ancient scripts, manipulate rune magic with precision, and outthink their opponents in both strategy and invention.

Low Intellect (1-3):

Your character struggles with abstract reasoning, often taking longer to understand concepts and solve puzzles. They may rely more on instinct or brute force than analytical thinking.

Average Intellect (4):

Your character possesses standard cognitive abilities, capable of learning and reasoning at a normal pace. They can grasp moderately complex ideas without significant struggle.

High Intellect (5-10):

Your character has a brilliant mind, excelling in logic, memory, and technical mastery. They can quickly analyze situations, decipher intricate rune formulas, and predict outcomes with remarkable accuracy.

Example:

When attempting to unlock an ancient vault, a character with high Intellect might deduce the correct sequence by analyzing the patterns in the inscriptions, while a character with low Intellect might resort to trial and error or brute force, possibly triggering traps in the process.

Valor

Insight

Your avatar's Insight reflects their perceptiveness, intuition, and ability to understand the hidden truths of New Asgard. With a keen Insight, you can decipher ancient runes, uncover secret plots, and navigate the treacherous political landscape of this world. Your Insight score determines your ability to solve puzzles, detect deception, and unravel the mysteries that lie at the heart of New Asgard.

 

 Low Insight (1-3):

 Average Insight (4):

Your character notices and understands things at a typical level.

 High Insight (5-10):

Your character has keen perception and intuition, often uncovering hidden meanings and connections.
